Twin Stick

Today I ordered a Twin Stick shifter from JB. I am not going to remove the "pills". Stock with the ease of longer easier shifters is all that is needed for my set up. It is going on a D20 with a four speed.

 

I installed the JB shifters. It'a about ten times better than the Rube Goldberg stock setup.

 

yeah, I just installed mine. I really like them. I did not remove the interlock pills either. I have the following drive modes available

2-high (rear)
4-high
2-low (rear)
4-low
Neutral.

Without the pill the front can only be in neutral or the same position as the rear. I cannot place the t-case into front-wheel drive only. It also prevents putting the case into a gearing mis-match and causing severe damage.

 

You mean with the pills in? I suspect you would be ill-advised to remove the lockout, because of the way the 20 shift rods work. Each rod controls an axle. Without the interlock, you could but one axle in high and the other in low, and that would be bad. Maybe there's a way to allow front in gear and rear in neutral ... that might be useful. Nick might know.

I recall something about grinding an additional notch in the shift rod. Maybe search will find it.

 

Mine will go into front low rear high. Just gotta be careful.. I thought I left the pills in.. I can see that it would be handy doing a front dig, but I never do that.
