Where are you guys putting your winch hook I have visions of this thing popping into gear while I'm driving and ripping my front bumper off. This happened to my father while driving to his deer stand.but he had it hooked to the rollers. Snapped all the bolts that held the winch on. I was thinking a thick wooden dowel between the rollers with the hook attached to that ?

Many winches have been destroyed by kids pulling shift levers. The other big thing is to never leave the winch shift lever engaged.

I have 2 military "O" rings on my bumper in case I need a tug. I attach my rope to that.

I stop with about a foot of cable left, then fasten the hook with a heavy duty bungee.

Tow hook or eye bolt in the bumper.

    nickmil In mothballs.

I bent my pro shift lever into an "L" so if it gets bumped it defaults to neutral.
