If your dad put a Holley on there, and you’re not going for a restore, I’d have that rebuilt rather than chasing down a Carter. There are a ton of Holley guys out there.

I have the Clifford setup minus dual exhaust and intake. The percentage of increase given is for the entire engine build not just the header and dual carb manifold. The dual carb manifold would be a waste without out the entire build. The entire build includes .06 bore and high compression pistons, 0 decked block, shaved head, 264 cam, header with dual exhaust, larger valves and 4 barrel or dual carb intake. My engine builder tried to source the parts in the kit for cheaper but couldn't do it. He also said the kit consisted of high quality brand name parts and was rather impressed. The engine produces considerably more torque than before and mileage has increased from 15-22 mpg. The torque has also increased drivability. If your not into spending that much, I would recommend headers, high flow muffler and a better carb. That engine could use more carb. If your looking to improve cold starts, upgrade to MSD ignition maybe a new MSD distributor and the newer OEM aluminum 2 barrel water heated intake with an electric carb heater. As for carbs, IMO, The MC2100 or the Quadrajet are your best option for extreme angles. The Quad will give better mileage as well. The Weber 38/38 is fine for street use but I suspect it will flood on inclines like the 32/36 does. Not designed for off road use. The YF is a piece of crap and the BBD is fine but a little small for that engine. IMO.

    Thanks timgr,
I don't have any picks of the Clifford build. Mostly internal stuff. Just a few pics of the completed engine ready for install.
