Yes it's single stage paint, but it's not Sierra Blue. It's the 2017/18 Jeep JK Chief Blue. But they are similar colors. Ford and Subaru also have some that are super close.

Sorry to hear about your hood. At least you know the local shop can match the color. Glad nobody was hurt.

The timing of this is interesting. I literally woke this morning with the random thought of adding a safety catch from a later model.

Maaan, that's a tough break with the hood. I'm surprised that the shop said they won't be able to fix it though, it doesn't look too bad in the pictures. Is it because they can't get behind the dent in that spot?

Love your jeep, hope the setbacks haven't discouraged you too much! I'd love to see it sometime, I'm right down the road in Richmond.

I'm east of the city, in quinton. We'll have to have a jeep meet up, maybe it'll kick my butt to get the darn thing on the road!

The issue with the hood is the hinge area around the rear edge. It's bent enough that the box section that braces the rear of the hood is also bent. Getting it all straight and to line up could be done, but it'd take 5-10 hours or more of work at shop rates just for the metal work. That's a lot to spend on a Jeep hood when I can buy a repop M38A1 hood for $215 plus shipping.

I'd be up for a meet up. We could do something dedicated or find a cars and coffee event in Fredericksburg or something similar. We could even do a run up Bald Mountain or Potts. The old Jeep hasn't been off road since I built it.
