Does anyone has the dimensions for the spring that goes in between the steering wheel and the tube bearing on a CJ5 Ross for a F134? Thanks!

You can purchase a new one from Kaiser Willys.

I know, but I would like to avoid paying 17.98 for a simple spring if I can find a similar in a local hardware store.

How do you know the spring rate will be correct?

I placed the order up to the payment section and the spring is 9.99 and the shipping for 20 or less is 7.99. That is how I know the total.

Nick wasn't talking about the price. He was talking about the "strength" of the spring, aka spring rate.

Surely you must need more parts! Its easy to get the free shipping.

He was talking about the k constant of a spring! And I was thinking money!:D If I am not mistaken, the spring is just to keep some tension between the steering wheel and the bearing. Given how "tight" the rest of the tolerances in a CJ5 are I can go out on a limb and say the range is "plus or minus a mile"!
