Enough Room To Shift?

I am pretty sure the PO installed this transfer shifter. It does not look correct for this 1964 tuxedo.
Is there enough room for the full range of motion depicted in the sticker?
Is there a boot to cover this hole and stop the dust?
I haven't had the time yet to take it out and try to shift through the ranges.
    Thanks "doc"

If it's a single stick that isn't bent or something it doesn't need much hole. There is a little retainer ring and rubber "boot"' for them.

Single stick D18 was used on the v6 era cj5s, and the curved shift lever works fine with a small hole.

Looks like a single stick lever with a dual lever floor tunnel cover. I believe the v6's used the single stick and 4 cyl had the duals.

Yep, the T/C shift lever has a big curve in it to match the small hole.
There is a cover for the other vacant hole. If nobody else does, I’ll post a pic in the morning.

Never mind, I already had one. 25315234-8F66-4670-9C3B-A11D18B43899.jpeg

Yes my T/C hole was hogged out by a PO. Don’t know why, maybe for the body lift.

Thanks folks. Yep it is a V6. Working on getting it running right. Think I have a timing problem. Just don't have much time right now.
Working on getting this "Camino" running again for my son.

Your single-stick is absolutely correct for a '64/'65 Tuxedo Park. The single-stick was introduced in the MKlV Tuxes.
Your Jeep originally came with an F134 and a column shifted transmission though. Your shift lever is in the 2WD high range position. It will pull down to three more positions. There was a small sheet metal ring that retained a rubber flap where the single-stick comes through the floorplate, retained by sheet metal screws. The V6 Jeeps had a larger elongated hole due to the pivot being mounted to the alloy bellhousing as seen in Andrews's photo. There was originally a blanking plate where your cane shifter is too.

Thanks fireballl. Great photos. They help alot.
Any idea where I can get the ring and maybe the boot?
I think I can make the blanking cover\plate if needed.

    Thanks

You post this same thing every time transfer case shifters are discussed. It's not productive. Let people do what they want with their own Jeep.
