Adapting A Gm Alternator To A L134 And Pulley Selection

    Good info and explanation of pulley & belt selection when changing to 10SI or 12SI GM alternators. It appears that the correct belt could also slightly impact the RPMs of the fan and water pump.

    No need to buy a special tractor Alternator. Just go to somewhere like Speedway Motors and buy a Pulley for a Ford Flat head V8 and put it on the alternator of your choice. You can get them in Steel or Aluminum. Made to perfectly fit a 5/8" belt

    Thanks for sharing that Mark. When I replaced my crank pulley I was more concerned about pulley groove size and alignment of all the grooves/belt. I hadn’t considered the size of the pulley and how that affects RPM of the other pulleys.
