correct me if I am wrong here, but does the PCV system need full vacuum? Don't most of them just have a breather on one bank and a hose on the other bank that goes to a port on the air cleaner or air intake? Couldn't you just run 2 open breathers on the valve covers? Doesn't the old Fhead use a road draft system with no modern PCV? If this is an EF doesn't it need an EGR system iof some sort where that hose is routed? I would always run the brake booster off the carb base.

Yes for it to function as designed. The PCV valve regulates air flow through it based on the amount of vacuum available during engine operation.
Not exactly. All have a source for clean filtered air generally on one bank of a "V" style engine and port usually on the opposing bank through a PCV valve to a vacuum source. This arrangement allows clean air to sweep through the engine drawing gasses out.
This would relieve pressure from building within the engine but would not purge the engine crankcase of gasses.
Draft tubes were common on early engine designs.
    I don't understand the question.
Why? Mine as most is connected directly to the intake plenum.

From the factory my odd-fire 231 is the other way around. The PCV is in the back of the intake and fresh air comes in through the valve cover. It shouldn't be hard to find a breather for the valve cover.

Get a vacuum tee and run the pcv and power brakes to the same port.

Usually power brake vacuum comes directly from the manifold. There should be a tapped hole specifically for brakes. Possibly that brass plug? Also typical that the PCV connects to the base of the carburetor.

This is what I had on my Dauntless and seemed to work well.
The only pluged port is that #6 intake where I moved the PCV to. It’s the far side from the brakes but maybe good as the brakes wouldn’t pollute just one cylinder.

PCV hose runs to the port at the base of the TBI. The power brake booster hose to the #6 brass plug port.

Many people do exactly this, then can't figure out why their valve covers are always covered in oil and their oil pan or rear main seal leaks. Any engine with some blow-by will pressurize the crankcase and those filter type breathers will become saturated with oil mist. Some of it will leak out onto the valve covers. If the breathers get to saturated, the crankcase stays pressurized and looks for other ways out. A loose oil pan gasket or questionable rear main seal are the two easiest avenues for the pressure to escape.

What type of air filter housing are you running. Some come with a fitting for a hose.

    Some types did.

Also interesting is that PCV as a thing was invented for taking military vehicles, including Jeeps, underwater.

I would a 1" spacer under between the the adapter and manifold with a port for manifold vacuum. Most filter bases have a filtered port or one can be added.

Then adapt a port to drivers intake valve cover for clean air.
