CJ-2A Saginaw Conversion

    Ok, so I've finally gotten off my duff and gotten the saggy swap started. :rofl:

    Got the plates cut last night to box the frame horns, and tonight I swapped out the tie rods for Herm's units. With the box and plates held onto the frame horns with C-clamps I couldn't resist running up and down the driveway a couple of times, and then of course a couple of circuits around my circle. Life is gud again! :twisted:

    Hope to start welding tomorrow night, and then I have to quit for a week to go to Boy Scout camp with #1 son. Oh well, it'll still be here when I get back, unless the wife sells it while we're gone. ;)

    I drove mine around the neighborhood with a Kant-Twist clamp holding the box to the frame several times. I wouldn't do it with a C-clamp but a Kant-Twist is a different animal all together. I used a 6" model that has a 2000lb capacity.

    These clamps are far superior to any other clamp on the market, bar none, I highly recommend a set for any major construction or clamping purpose, they are pretty much all you will find in a decent machine shop any more, except for a few hard headed old timers still using C-clamps and vise grips.

    Desperation and Christmas morning butterflies will cause grown men to do some pretty silly crap.
    Like the above mentioned C-clamp along with flat towing your jeep 1300 miles to wheel with people you've never met face to face.:D
