Rear seat mounts

OK, I know this is a bit of a schoolboy error, but I can't find the front mounts for my rear seats! I must have filed them very carefully:rofl:

Does anyone have a picture of the brackets for a fold & tumble rear seat? At least if I know what it looks like then I might stand a better chance of finding it. Failing that it'll help me fab one up.

Thanks in advance for your help...

The seat brackets or the floor brackets for a '73? Each bracket on the seat is one piece as I recall, with a spring and a pin that latches to the floor bracket. All four floor brackets are the same; the seat bracket slides under and the pins hold the seat in place. The rear seat on a '73 is not fold-and-tumble.

My Bestop seat has 2 brackets in front and one latch style bracket in the back. It's exactly the same as a fold & tumble except for the fact the sides have different hardware & won't fold. Is this what you have? Do you need pictures of the front or back?

I'm pretty sure the stock floor brackets are the same, front and back. When I had my '75 CJ-6, I could position the seat at the rear (OEM position, same location as in a CJ-5), or about 15" further forward by placing the rear seat bracket under the front floor bracket. To do this, the front floor brackets have to have a hole in the center, like the rears.

Hmm, I thought maybe I was thinking of a jeep in another life so I went out and looked. There is most definitely only one bracket in the back for my Bestop seat. It never had a seat or brackets in it before I bought this one so I don't know how the original is supposed to look.

When you took the brackets out, you didn't by chance attach them to the seat for "safe-keepin", did you? Just so everything would be "all together"? That's what I usually do, and then forget that I did it. Takes me weeks to find things that are right in front of me.

I thought that the fold-and-tumble rear seat might be a suspect addition rather than original!

I have two 'catches' that lock the back part of the rear seat. There is a little lever at the side of the seat that unlocks it from the upright position into a folded position. These catches attach to either side of the wheelhouse panels. That's all fine.

It's at the front of the rear seat that I'm stuck. Under the seat are 2 small protruding brackets that sit perpendicular to the floor, and run from front to back. At the front of this bracket is a 12mm hole, which I presume to be the point at which it connects into some kind of floor mounted fixing.

I suppose a picture would have really helped here, but I forgot to take one, I'm afraid.

One thing is for sure, there are no obvious parts lying about on my Jeep :) there's just about nothing left of it at the moment!
