    spud Nope..it's not finished!

I'm in the process of installing a 6 point cage in my '71 CJ5. It was in another CJ and I bought it to use in my off road rig. I fits well in the body but it is in the way of the controls in the dash on the left of the steering column. Im sure many of you have run up against this issue so I was hoping for some ideas from the group on what you did to overcome this. My first thought was to just move the switches to a better location. What did you do???

If the rollcage you bought fit well in another CJ, instead of cutting it up and possibly having an adverse effect on it's strength, I would move the switches in the dash to have them out of the way.

I would move the controls and switches.
On mine the front down bar interferes with the parking brake handle, but I am looking to switch that to the M38A1 style between the seats (or maybe scavenge one from a VW Bug(early 60's style). Easier to reach in emergency situations. I have the one on the D18 case.:hurrican:

    I agree.

Strength from the cage should be your priority, with everything else coming after.

    sammy Coca-Cola?

Just a quick thought, did you happen to see how it was in the other Jeep? How the switches and all were?
