helicoil question

    I have to put a helicoil in my block for the mainfold stud. Question is do I need to worry about the "Tang" dropping into the water jacket? I don't think it should cause a problem, but wanted to get some opinions....Thanks< Dave

    If you're concerned about it, break it off with a magnetized screwdriver. Don't forget to seal the helicoil in or you'll get a coolant leak around it. Seal the stud too. BTDT

    Good point Case. Didn't think about sealing the helicoil threads. Thanks a million ....Dave
