Fuseblock storage

    spud Nope..it's not finished!

The CJ5 fuseblock is in a location that is quite inaccessable by the more "round" types like me. During my build, I realized this and thought about a common household food storage container to hold my fuseblock under the hood on the firewall. I'm sure many of you have done a similar install but I thought I would post a few pics of mine........:)

I like the idea, and the fuses are hard to get to even for not so "round" guys.
However, those containers are really flimsy, and I doubt they would hold up to much heat or vibration.
Something like an OtterBox would be a better option in my opinion.

I ended up using a "hobby box" from radio shack for my fuse block, but ended up losing teh cover years ago :(

I felt like the heat would be the only issue for the box too. If it warps or melts down, I'll replace it with a better enclosure. I grabbed what I had handy around the house that day. Actually, I hope that the fact that this is a street Jeep, that it won't see as high a tempature as a Jeep that would have alot of idling time off road to build up heat under the hood.

    We'll see I guess........

Great idea!! Even if it does fall apart, it's a cheap start to see if you like it.

Your best bet is to hit the U pick yards. many late model vehicles have under hood boxes that contain not only fuses but relays as well. Many times you can score the entire loom for 20 bucks.
