T-90 rebuild question

Hello all. I'm rebuilding my my t-90 and spicer 18, when I split the two the rear tranny bearing and a beveled washer fell out. My problem is I don't know if I need the washer, (it's not on the tranny parts breakdown) and if I do , which way does it fit, I'm guessing bevel towards the the bull gear from the looks of it? OR just chuck it? I'll be running an OD with this not the bull gear. Thanks!








Did it get them all in the correct order.

 

I just finished mine last night and everything looks correct in the last pic. I did not have that beveled washer on mine.

I don't think that beveled washer belongs there, I have no idea why it was placed there or from where it came originally. As far as I can tell from the pictures, everything looks right.

 

I have a mangled snap ring leftover from my disassemble, I have looked at all of the exploded drawings of the t-90, D18 and Warn Overdrive and I still have no idea what it came off of. We should start a new forum for unidentified parts...

 

That's either a shield from the bearing that's separated or someones attempt at a shim or shield. Does not belong in a T-90.

 

It is an oil retainer. I think the only place I've ever seen it shown is on Walcks website for t-90 parts. I've only found it on two of about a dozen t-90 teardowns. First time I saw one, I thought it was a shim of sorts also.

 

In my very limited knowledge of T90's I agree with the above, and have heard of that referenced part before. With the front oil retainer not being available any longer from any source, this is supposed to help in keeping gear oil in the T90 on long uphill drives. The T18 and T90 effectively share the oil. I've never seen one though.

 

Interesting. Maybe a late model T-90 addition? I've torn down over a hundred or more T-90's and only seen a few of those and generally with aftermarket bearings....

I'll have to look but at the shop we used to have lots of the front oil shields....
Don't know if they are still available but the last one I did a couple months ago the rebuild kit came with one for the front. It also sets clearances for the front bearing.
