Which lift kit?

Hey guys. I know this has been discussed a million times but here I go. I'm going to purchase a lift kit for my 58 CJ5. I'm putting 31x10.5x15 's on it. I'm going with a 2.5" lift. I plan on keeping the price under 600 so BDS, Rancho, Old Man Emu and the like are out. I started looking at Rough Country but keep hearing about sagging springs and super rough ride. I'm trying to decide between it, Super Lift, Pro Comp, or a kit that 4 wheel parts.com sells as they are all in my price range. I'll be riding off road 98% of the time. Are any of these better than the others by your experience or am I just getting what I pay for across the board?

I had bought the Rancho 2.5 lift in 1998 when I built my flatty. The springs are holding up fine after being used every summer.

What all are you putting in the lift kit? I put Rancho soft rides and shocks on the Blue '49 last year and with the R9000s it was just over $700. I am pretty sure you could be right at $600 with cheaper shocks.

I have superlift on my `79 CJ. Love it. I have skyjacker on my `68 CJ, love it. l put a 4WD hardware 2.5in on a `87 wrangler and it was the stiffest ride ever! But that was when they first started making lifts, so maybe they are more refined now...

I hadn't considered that. That would stick Rancho into my price range. I could upgrade shocks down the road if I felt the need. Good option. Thanks.

Skyjacker soft ride here. Night and day better than the old springs.

I really liked the SkyJacker Softride on the '71. Don is still running them without any problems, ~15 years later.

Well, I found some some used Superlift 2.5" springs someone is selling on here. I plan on getting these which leaves me plenty of money to buy some really nice shocks. Is it worth it to spend the money on a set of mono tube shocks or will a good set of the nicer 10 stage ones be good enough?
