so just as it happens... another Tuxedo park mark IV has popped up for sale near me... good motor (hurricane unfortunately)...driveable....no title!...so not so driveable on road.
im going to look at it tomorrow. from what i can see, the front fenders are shot but the rest seems to be good and he said it has a good soft top. if the tub is in better shape than mine i am going to blast it and use it instead of mine. would anybody be interested in the tux parts that i dont need if i go this route? badges, front bumper, column shifter? no that its a make or break thing.....just wondering. (i am keeping my fingers crossed that it has an overdrive...but i severely doubt it)

I'm sure there will be an interest at one point or another for the extra tux parts. But no guarantee when you would sell and such.

But body would be worth it if yours is in worse condition.

as much as i want a Dauntless....it will also be nice to have a spare, good running, hurricane.
maybe i will blast the other frame too and sell it, or eventually build a mud truck.

well you are in a predicament, I don't know how easy it is to pick up a dauntless on your side.

Wish I had better opinion on the engine thing, I only driven the dauntless v6. No hurricane yet.

OK - so that is the blue one in perryopolis.

Please tell us about it since you have seen it.
    Overdrive?
    Rear license plate light?
    How does it run?
    Brakes?
    Seats?
    How's that top?

Plus any other details you might have seen.

    Thanks

Yes it is...good guess. He started it up after a couple tries an hitting the starter with a hammer. It has a hole in the exhaust somewhere because it was LOUD! Apart from a crappy running carb the motor ran silent (I.e. no clatter, piston slap etc. ) I couldnt drive it. The last insp sticker (west virginia) was 1988. No overdrive, but the shifter linkage feels nice and tight. The tub is really rusted out. The rear floor is disintegrating and the passenger side rear is rotted out where the spare was (naturally). The front fenders are gone.... the hood badges are gone and he told me a stipulation of him selling it to me was that the front and rear chrome bumpers would be comming off as he had sold them separately. The seats are not from the cj...they are old high backs out of god knows what.
The soft top may be original and is shrunk and de-threaded...I took a pass on it. I considered it just to have a spare drive train he was even willing to knock $100 off. But I am limited on cash and space...last thing I need is to blow my last bit of money on parts that I really DONT need. I need a tub and an o/d (well...WANTan o/d and a tub) I NEED a good soft top. Plate was mounted to the underside or the bumper...the swingdown mount was m.I.a
