It took a while but I have a Jeepster Commando!

(yeah, I know. But now I don't have to worry about keeping the dash original.)

    Details:
    1967
    GM 5.0 V-8
    SM465
    NP 208
    D30 with Disc brakes (non-Powered)
    D44

Currently going through the lube, fluid change, tighten and "Hmmm....that's interesting..." phase.

The short to-do list includes power brakes and a FAST EFI. The long to-do will probably never end.

It turns out that they aren't as obnoxious as I thought they'd be (unless I REALLY want them to be 8)8)8) )

Congrats Waggs. Kind of digging the dash. Full time reminder of where we live. Will keep an eye out for you here in Falcon.

aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

Love it. I want an old Commando. Much cooler than the bullnose.

  9. Ah yes, a nice new to you Jeep. Very nice. Yeah, with the age of these JC's now, it's always fun to discover all the past rigs, both good and bad. Looks like you have a great base to start from to make as you want. Excellent find. ;)

How about a closer picture of the mirror. I kinda like the extra mirror.

It appears to be a re-purposed interior rear view mirror. I don't care for it much. It's small and has limited adjustability.

You know how many times I've gone by your house, "on my way home"? I keep hoping to see your garage door open! . I have the rear drive shaft out of it at the moment. The booger welding on it leads me to believe that it was the victim of an unprofessional shortening process. Once I get that back in, I'll send you a PM.

OK - I'm out of town this week, but let me know. You can always just stop at the house too :)

I know I know it is not really to the point but OMG isn't that a Matra Bagheera underneath your Jeep on the trailer????? WOW, any idea where that was going?

Oh well...what a rare and interesting little car. Anyway NICE Commando! There is a really clean one near my home and every time we drive by it I slow down and my wife says "Don't even think about it.."
