Has anyone ever heard of a fuel pressure regulator taking out a fuel pump?
I just installed a new pump and regulator and within 25 miles my new pump is broken at the seam and spilling gas every where. I called Morris 4X4 today and they said I need to talk with the Crown Rep to see if I installed it correctly before they can issue a warranty. chainsawguy
Is it even possible by reducing to 2.5 psi this could happen?????

Fuel pressure regulator will have no effect on the fuel pump. All it does is shield the float needle from the full pressure of the pump.

Crown fuel pump? You can call the Crown warehouse in Massachusetts and talk to the manager Jeff there.

Go to your local FLAPS (or RockAuto) and buy a new, name-brand fuel pump (Carter, ACDelco, Airtex) and install it in your Jeep.

    This.
Try and avoid Crown if at all possible. I purchased a window regulator for a Cherokee from them. Had to send it back as it was built backwards.

I'm not going to lie Crown and Omix have been a pain in my *** over the years but sometimes there products do work. SOMETIMES

Oh and I don't have the box anymore but Melissa at Morris told me it was a Crown product.. So that's what I'm going off of and there is no marking on the pump itself.

Broken at the seam?!!? Sounds possibly like too much mechanical action (throw). Maybe the wrong pump or the pump cam arm for your engine, or installed lacking the right mounting spacer, if needed?

Or poor quality. I rebuilt the fuel pump/vacuum pump for the F-head on my '57. The fuel pump diaphragm rotted from just sitting around with never having fuel put to it.
