Floor Pan for 1975

    i will be needing to replace the left front floor pan
    will also be needing the hat channels, body mounts etc.

    where is the best place to get them?

    In case you had not thought of it, you can make new floor pans from sheet steel. Others here have replaced their hat channels with rectangular tubing.

    But CE will sell you nice parts that will fit well.

    I did my floor pans with 16 ga sheet steel and they came out ok... considering im NOT a welder...

    I also got some channels from CE for my 79 that upon inspection are EXACT matches... with trim to fit

    good prices too!

    16 gauge is really thick for automotive applications. For brackets and such it would be ok, but it's really thick for panels - BTDT. Cost is higher and it becomes a lot harder to work with as it gets thicker.

    Even heavier older cars use something like 19 gauge. 18 is plenty - even if you use 20, it would be fine IMO.
