Does anyone know how to tell if the fixed PCV is working properly? What is supposed to be inside of them? I can see straight through mine and noticed a spring actuated bushing. Is this all it is? Most new ones have a ball inside that you can hear rattle inside them.....??? The cost of a 'new' one is 50 bucks....

Remove it. Disassemble it. Clean it. Reassemble it. Shake it. It should not rattle.

Thanks, that was easy enough...I thought there were more parts inside and mine was missing them.

    Hi,

On my F134 - 66 CJ5, my PVC valve is mounted below the carburetor - it is attached to the intake vacuum with a hose leading to the bell shape thing on top of the valve cover. I all drawings that I looked at, the PVC valve is mounted beside the fuel pump and attached to the front valve cover stud. On my engine the valve cover is held by a short studs with nothing attached to it for the front. The back stud has the normal gas pedal stuff.

I'm just wondering if it is stock (later or earlier engine) or if it was modify by the PO? Is there any issue having the PVC valve mounted that close to the Intake?

It should pose no problem there as later models had it from the factory there.
