original color

    I have been sandblasting my tub and I ran across this color...It seems like it's on the bottom layer and it was fairly consistent throughout... Any idea if this may have been the original color? any idea what it is.... 1972 Jeep CJ5 ...

    Looks like 431 "Avocado Mist Poly" - poly meaning metallic - popular color in 1972.

    A '72 has a different VIN tag type from '73 and later. The color is not on the VIN tag. Instead, it's on an adhesive foil tag on the passenger side of the fire wall. This paint-and-trim tag is typically gone, esp. once repainted.
