I need to repair or replace the transmission mount on the T98 on my CJ55. The steel portion is pulling put of the bottom rubber, so the transmission bounces when I hit a bump. Walcks said they don't have one. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a mount for a T86 and it looks different.

Did you ask herm the overdrive guy? Look like he sell rebuilt T98 so he might have it.

I think the T-98 came in some of the Kaiser trucks too. It might be a relatively universal part to the T-98, you just need to find the applications it appears under that are more common than the CJ-5.

I just installed a t98 in my 4 cyl from Herm. It came with a rubberized mount for the crossmember but I had to weld it in. Herm supplied the mount that bolted up so he is worth a try.

2X on what Posimoto said. Novak also has the hardened steel pins that are so hard to find for the T-98. They are out of Logan, Utah, land of my birth and if I had the number handy, I would pass it along. They seem to be the only company I have found that even recognizes that some Jeeps actually had these transmissions in them.

If you are referring to the shifter pin they are (or were a year ago) still available through Ford as they are the same as a T-18.
The folks at Novak are good people though and should be supported IMHO.

I rebuilt a T98 / large-hole 18 combo that also had an overdrive that I cleaned up (wear looked good, no bearings, etc) a bit ago...

I sourced all my parts thru Novak. Erik was a great guy, and was good at answering questions I sent (with decent, clear photos).

I also think in one of the photos is the rubber mount from your OP, and I highlighted the jeep part numbers on it.
