Body Length

    Does anybody have accurate measurements for the overall length of an early CJ5 body tub from the rear tailgate area to the firewall only? Need to start figuring out some frame locations before having a body for final fit. thanks....Bob

    Just a suggestion, I done all the repair on the underside of my body, including replacing the underbody support channels with heavier ones made at a sheet metal shop. I set my body on the frame and lined it up with the rear cross member. I took a 1/2 " bolt and drilled a 1/8" hole through it, and used it as a guide to drill up through the new channels from the frame mounts. It worked out well for me.     I measured from the firewall to the back (used a straight edge across the back) and came up with 83-1/8". I was surprised to see it was the same on both sides.
