Cracked D18 Case Options.....

Needs an adapter to the Buick bellhousing. Adapting the Chevrolet & GM Standard Shift Bellhousings to the Jeep CJ & FSJ Borg-Warner T14, T15 & T18 Transmissions

Good transmission though. Strongest full-synchro 3-speed. Easy shifter IMO. Better ratios than the T-14.

 

That is a T-15 as noted earlier used behind the AMC V-8 in intermediate CJ's. Much stronger than a T-14 but does need adapted as also noted earlier. Parts are getting harder to find for them as well.

 

Well I'll hang onto it anyways then you never know..

Oh I did manage to get that and the d20 so I'll be using that now for a case to replace my 18

Now I technically should be able to reuse the 20's intermediate shaft if it looks good as I understand it's not under the strain the 18 shaft was....is that correct?

Looking to not spend a whole bunch on rebuilding this as it won't see a lot of use and probably never see 4 wheel drive

Yes you can use the 20 intermediate shaft. Make sure the bearing surfaces are in good shape.
