The adapter that Tim references above usually requires the T90 transmission input shaft be changed to a longer one from a Willys wagon/pickup with the 226 staight six engine (T90-J). You also have to make sure the internal tooth count of the input shaft matches what you already have.
You don't state what year Jeep you have with the F134. The T90 used behind a 134 has an input shaft "stickout" length of 7" and is 15/16" diameter. It can have either 33 or 35 teeth depending on year. Generally, from '46 -'62 used the 33 tooth input, and from '63-up used the 35 tooth gear.
The truck input shaft has a "stickout" length of 9 1/4" with 1 1/8" diameter, and 33 teeth.
Ideally, the input shaft swap is easiest (cheapest) for the '62 and earlier version because the cluster gear in the bottom of the T90 will not need to be changed because the gears have the correct tooth count.
All this needs to be verified because parts could have been changed out over the past 50 years.
We call this "project creep" because of all the unforseen complications that come up with swaps.

my jeep is kaiser jeep :

    january 14th 1969

i think taht no one put his nose inside because :
1)it was a military jeep = swiss army
2)when it came ou from switzerland ,it stayed in a barn .
3)when i put it on raod again , the gasket , parts , etc show that no one have work on it

to verify , i need to open the gear box ?

    ps :

i m bad !!!! i search "passenger" like a model of buick !!!:mad::mad: and understood after that it a type of vehicule (not pick up , truck , etc )

    bad !!!bad !!! :D:D

    is it better :

    keep my t90 (3speed ) or use the t98 (4speed)

i know (remember ) that if i mount t98 , i need modification on the cross member

Buick v6 with the t98 is the perfect combination in a Jeep.

Very nice jeep. Why do you want to change it? More efficiency? Better off road? Better on road? Is there an issue with the 4cyl and it needs to be replaced anyway?

I'd go 4 speed. I think you will have better overall gearing choices. I would go with the 6 but I have no real good reason other than I like the 6 better. If you are going to open the can of worms, I'd go all the way. You also need to think about the axle gearing. What will the final drive ratio be after you put in the T98? I believe it will be fine. If I remember correctly, the T-98 has a very low first gear, something like 7.xx?

But if the 4 speed will mount behind the 4cyl without a lot of problems, do that.

Basically, keep it as simple as you can.

I'm assuming this is a T-98 from a CJ-5 that came with the F134 engine originally. For off-roading, the T-98 is an excellent upgrade. The T-98 is also much stronger and more durable than the T-90. To install the T-98, you will need to change the crossmember and mounting, the floors, the driveshaft lengths, and other minor things like the speedometer cable. The T-98 is heavy, and more work to drive, being a slow shifter and requiring more effort and attention when shifting, but otherwise superior to the T-90 in every way.

You can also adapt the V6 engine to the T-98. Advance Adapters has a kit that will adapt the Jeep CJ-5 T-98 to a GM engine. Being in France, this is probably your best option if you want a V6 and 4-speed transmission like the T-98.

i living in moutain (in the mont blanc valley)

the 4 cylinder is very good in off road , but on road it s very "short" for the road in moutain even after new piston rings , valves and ignition. and in summer i can take my jeep to do 100 or 120 km of moutain roads

    the t98 , yes : coming from a cj5

for my ears :D a v6 is so beautiful ! i like my boat with its v6 4.3 . and one friend of mine has the 3.8 in is boat

my floors are rusty with pieces of glass fiber (last owner)

    here is the engine :

He is wanting to know how hard it is to get a Swiss Army jeep (I think). How hard was it for you to find one?

    ok ! sorry

every year the swiss army sells its equipement (like all armies ). in 2001 , there was 110 cj5 to sell , in every shape .
paper are quiet esay to do .
the trouble is french administration and laws for road . because we don t have the same turn signal (you : brake and position are the same light and stuff like that)

almost every cj5 in france are coming from the swiss army and belgium army .
even few back years , there was a lot of these jeeps every year , now : no more .

we found parts but french or swiss sellers are very greedy . hopefuly , internet is here but shipping is expensive and we pay 20% of tax when the product is entering in france .
we avoid tax sometimes when the seller is a personn and not a society , or if it says : gift , sample , etc

did i answer your question ?

Novak has the G9N kit that does NOT require the input shaft on the T90-a to be changed to the J type. This is fairly new kit.
