I got the bellcrank w/ tapered bearings from a member here, and the 2 hole rt knuckle from Daryl. Thanks guys.
I tested it down the road a couple miles this eve after putting it together, and it seems good. Gonna ride it to work tomorrow so may know a little more.
Still has the stock Ross box.

Thanks for posting those photos, I could not picture how it was setup and in my minds eye kept thinking the two hole knuckle would have to be on the left side. I was also wondering if the bell crank got retained or not. I want to keep my stock steering box and the bellcrank so this looks like the set up for me. I'll have to start looking for a two hole knuckle.

Could you tell me a little bit more about the bell crank with tapered bearings, what models or years they were used on.

^ I don't think there was ever an option or a factory steering bellcrank with the tapered bearings. The best I could figure out, any that are now this way, were modified from an original.
I don't rem who I got this one from, but it has worked really well. Maybe another member will chime in and give a little more info.
Mcruff, the really good machinist on this board, might even be able to help you with this.

We covered this last year sometime, that bellcrank looks like one that was offered as aftermarket piece sometime in the past. I seem to recall someone selling one.

There's also been some talk that Gladiators had a tapered bearing bellcrank from the factory.

Its a character flaw but I detest tedious jobs and the cleaning of small parts. I've been conveniently ignoring the r&r kit for the hubs. Last weekend I dumped the hubs into parts cleaner to soak. Took a deep breath and fully went through the hubs. 4hrs of mind numbing tedium but they are finished. Don't start on the black wheels they're only rollers!

I didn't notice until later, can you spot the difference?

I swapped Ted's warn premiums out for some selectro hubs. Only issue is the writing is upside down... :(

D30 selectro's are really hard to find.

Just FYI - you can run a 1-piece tie-rod set-up with the OEM single hole knuckle using a tie-rod that accepts the new drag link directly into it:

I think the two hole knuckle design is better - keeps the drag link a bit flatter and provides a bit more tie-rod clearance above the leaf spring.

I did not know so thanks for that bit of information. Is that a picture of your set up and can you tell me where to get those parts?

Yup - that is my set-up. I have some more pics when i get home. The pic I posted was from my recent leaf spring install and the shims I installed from Mike. The shims really help provide some clearance above the spring (as well as correct the caster etc). I would start with Herm (if you are willing to deal with him) or AA (as its also a common way to set it up with saginaw swap). Somebody like Daryl might have one sitting on an old jeep somewhere as well.

Made rubber floor mats and glued carpet to the top to help cut down on noise during highway driving.[IMG]
[IMG] Plan on doing the tops of the wheel wells in the back as well. Cool things is they're easily removable.

Working on fab of a mount for the overdrive off the t-98

Had to re-jigger a bunch of stuff. Welded a lot of holes.

Still working on the connector to the lever at the right end. Have the 3/8 rod bent the way i want using a handy 15in loop end of a crescent wrench and the vice. Working on clearance mostly then will tack it and test.
