Got the Koenig PTO and driveshafts installed and working in my '56.

Next... the winch and front bumper assembly. Have to drill out the rivets on the OEM bumper.

Gutted everything out of the interior (except the drivers seat) & took it to the car wash and washed out a summers worth of mud, dust, and pine needles. Next comes a good coat of wax and putting on the top for the winter.

Replaced a leaky axle seal on the Ford 9 inch rear axle. Requires cutting off the bearing retainer, old bearing and pressing on new seal, bearing and retainer.

Pulled the T14 and D18, in preparation to change the clutch. I've decided to go ahead and rebuild the transmission and T-case with novak kits because they both have 200,000 mi on them at least.

Removed the exhaust system to have the crossovers tube and collector ceramic coated. I fabricated the crossover tube a couple years ago and used mild steel tube instead of stainless or alumized steel which was a big mistake. The tube was rusting pretty bad and I was afraid it wouldn’t last long. I had originally used some high dollar Eastwood header paint but that lasted about a week.

Got the rest of my floor worked out and welded in. Deleted the under seat tool box for a second fuel tank.

My crossover exhaust tube came back from being ceramic coated. It looks pretty good.

I'm still battling rust and bodywork on my '68 cj5 project. My transmission/floor cover was all rusted out:

I got a better one from Daryl, but two pieces had been cut out of it:

Fortunately, I was able to cut pieces out of my rusty cover to patch the replacement cover:

Welded the thin metal with a hundred dots:

    Flap-disc'd the welds somewhat smooth:

I drilled a hole for the transfer case lever and sprayed some primer. I don't know enough about the various combinations and permutations of transmissions to know why this cover didn't already have a hole for the transfer case shifter.

Testing the cover to see if it will work with the various shifters:
