Wait till you try getting at the one on the wagon. After that you'll be saying that sure was easy on the CJ5. ;)

Great Glenn, give me something else to keep me up at nights now. Can't wait for the wagon experience....

When I did get it off, it was bone dry. I'm sure there are leaking cylinders, but not trying to jump on just brakes until I decide which route. Looks like it hasn't been opened in years. Filled it up and brakes back like they were. I'm sure it needs bleeding but looking at the bleeders, I'm scared they will snap off and I'll be dead in the water. Right now I'm just tootling around close as I get things done. The roll bar guy was supposed to start tack welding Monday but didn't make that deadline. Figures. In any event, I'm gonna pull to check level again now that I've pumped it up and driven some. I'll clean the threads and get some anti seize on it so hopefully it will be easier next time.

Not sure if Never-Seize is compatible with brake fluid.

Pedals out of a 72 to 75 are a easy bolt-in. Speedway motors sells several option for new ones.

I wouldnt put anti sieze on it. That stuff is gritty. Id be worried about contamination.

In tight spots on other stuff ive used a stubby wrench. Use a pry bar pushed on the open end of the wrench to help get some pressure to break it loose if needed

2X what Homersdog said. I had this problem with a German car when I was in Germany (go figure), and had I been a little sharper, I would have noticed a puddle under my right rear wheel everywhere in the apartment parking lot, I had parked for the last few days. This was right after a trip through the Alps Mountains with 4 people and a fully loaded car. Glad those brakes didn't let loose there, or I might not be sitting here keyboarding this experience...

Happy Thanksgiving to you all out there. I fully appreciate the help you have given me, getting my '62 on the road. Gonna take it out for a spin today. I hope I have helped some of you in the process.

    Later...

Hi- Could you tell me what Chevrolet vehicle the reservoir came out of? I have the same MC and use a plastic remote reservoir mounted off the side of the radiator that doesn't work very well. I like your setup and would like to duplicate it.

    Thanks,
    Chip.

If you mean the grey one in the bottom pic that's not oem, I custom fabbed that out of an old propane torch cylinder- *WAY* more work than it was worth. Single & dual remote reservoirs abound at your favourite neighbourhood pick-a-part place.

Well, it looks great and quasi-"vintage" or fitting I should say. Who wants a clear, translucent reservoir with a yellow plastic cap?

Another option is motorcycle reservoir(s), I bought two off Ebay for about $8 a piece.
