it was not hard at all. make sure you have a 1 3/8" socket to turn crank over. Mark your plug wires and remove plugs to relieve compression while turning by hand. I used the opposing valve method. I followed this video.

I always feel a little tension in the room when I bring the "outside dog" inside from the bitter cold beside the "inside puppy."

Man, good eye. I had to zoom in on my own pic to see what you were talking about.
It's from a Volvo of course. And no, I can't use it. The Varg's pedal assembly has to be totally fabricated from scratch.

Under dash pedals or under the floor I wonder.

made a license plate bracket for the tire carrier. In the original position hanging from the rear frame cross-member my tags were always getting bent up. Now that the tags are made of aluminum they are not easy to straighten, so I wanted to get it up out of harms way.

Looks great. Nice solution. Neat how the plate matches paint.

I worked on this a few... dozen days ago. I thought I would get it done and do a little write up since it is not the easiest thing to find. But I haven't finished so here is the teaser.

These things aren't easy to find so I stole it out of my father inlaws 69 dauntless CJ5 to make a copy with some changes to get around my 4.3s HEI distributor. that arm is the one I haven't gotten to yet but this setup has brass bushings and a stainless bracket.

Rebuilt YF carb with NOS Jiffy kit. What a difference. The original accelerator pump shaft was seized onto the housing and there were no check balls in the original. It’s a wonder the Jeep even ran.

I found a mystery purple wire on the dash, decided to figure out what it went to. After a lot of thinking, figuring out how to navigate the wiring diagrams, and looking at things, I figured out the previous owner had to remove the oil sending unit to install the mechanical gauge. That also explains the missing warning light from the gauge cluster. It took me longer than it should but I feel good now! I'm gonna tee in a switch someday to add the warning light back. I'm a sucker for having everything functional and it'll get my attention better than the gauge could.

Working on the motor swap in the 3B. I think the 231 v6 is somewhat lighter then the f head, although more torque. I decided to do something a little different with the motor mounts. I made a mount for the Novak motor mounts, and bolted them to the frame instead of welding the Novak mounts to the frame. I think it will work. Each mount has 2, 7/16 bolts down through the frame rail, top to bottom. Anyone see a need to weld the home made mounts in addition to the bolts?

Front bolt is angled because I used the existing holes from the f head motor mounts.
I think it is fine, but I'm not a fabricator either. What y'all think?

I like the idea but having a critical bolt put in caddy -wampus like that would keep me awake at night.

Spent about 4 hours getting the Mojave heater installed. About half that time laying on my back contorted up. Working under a flatfender cowl is not on my favorites list. It's in there, I have some loose ideas for a plenum but with spring coming that will have to wait
