Overdrive Stumped .

    Trying to install this Saturn OD. Bowl gear in, torqued washer and snap ring seated. Perfect .677 stickout. Brass synchro seated in the dogs. Case deburred, lip doesnt seem to hang up. Stuck with a small gap, like coverplate thickness. Anyone?

    Well here you go. That much probably with a touch out of round somewhere. The Dremel is coming out...

    .001 is going to be press fit. I think I would use sandpaper to get it to fit.

    nickmil In mothballs.

    Paint the area with black felt ink (think Sharpie pen) then remove where the ink was scraped off. Blue layout fluid, even Prussian Blue can work but we used Sharpie pens for years on cylinder head valves and seats to check contact patterns and it worked very well.

    Exactly what I did Nick. 2 tight areas, slips right in now after a couple of light passes with the Dremel.
