Best Dauntless Lower Radiator Hose?

I’ve never seen one that isn’t kinked a bit.

Do those have the springs inside them?

 

It may depend on which radiator/grill you have. The early V6's had an offset grill/radiator placement, the later V6's (71) had the larger radiator that was centered. Rockauto lists some molded hose part numbers for the early's, but just shows universal flexible hoses for the later V6's. My 71 uses flexible on upper and lower, they both work acceptably.

 

I have a note in my service log that I use GATES radiator upper 20088 & lower 20355 hoses, but both have to be trimmed. The lower has the spring. There are no kinks and fit is good.
I have a '71 and few FLAPS have a listing for the lower hose.
Even Gates does not list the lower for my application.

 

This is listed by application for a 1970 on NAPA's website.
Looks about right to me.



Also, Oreilly lists the Gates 20355 as mentioned above.

 

Buy a hose with the spring inside and transfer it to the one that fits best, will help keep it from kinking.
