That is funny, but maybe not. :)
One old guy at a Jeep show had a 64 CJ5 with overdrive and a winch. When a little boy asked why he had so many gear stick levers, he smiled and said. "So you can't steal it?"
A lot of people now days couldn't drive one of these old Jeeps.
Not many people now even know how to drive a stick.

I used this one as well in my 3B, mounted through the firewall, so the connections are on the engine side, near the battery, and the toggle is within reach of the driver, so in case you're hanging from your seat belt, you can theoretically still shut it off.

yes, even though there's not really a whole lot of electrical things on the jeep aside from gauges and lights, I made sure it was continuous duty rated and can handle the amp draw of the starter motor, since everything goes through it.

Long ago I taught my eight year old daughter how to drive a stick in a snow covered empty parking lot.

IMO, those are THE BEST conditions for learning a stick because the wheels will spin during improper clutch engagement.

After just a few attempts she had clutch usage nailed, without any bucking or stalling.

My siblings, cousins, and I all learned to drive stick on a Farmall Super C. Hand throttle removed one variable, and no shifting under way. Easy transition to the pickup after that.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program…

While on the topic of cut-off switches and those using electric fuel pump. A fuel pump cut-off switch should be used on your fuel pump in case of
a roll over. This can be available tilt style or connected to your oil pressure switch. I used a 3-post oil pressure switch. One terminal removes the ground
for the oil light and the other removes the ground for the fuel pump relay. I currently don't have an electric fuel pump but it is wired and ready.
The open ground is connected to the electric choke of the carburetor so it does not heat until the oil pressure is up. This requires insulating the tab
inside the choke as it grounds through the tab. The switch operates at 8psi. One wire is ground, one is normally closed for the light and the normally open side
side grounds the choke and fuel pump relay. If connected in this configuration the fuel pump will not come on until oil pressure comes up to 8psi. This
will allow oil pressure to be up before starting when using fuel injection. No dry starts as discussed elsewhere on this site and turns off the fuel pump with
your jeep on it's side. I hope this is clear as I get more dyslexic as I age. John

I learned on the beach in my Tux when I was around 10. Yes, dumping the clutch in sand just spins the tires. Within 1/2 hour, I had the clutch/shifting gears thing down (though I wasn’t allowed use 3rd, too fast)
I spent the rest of that summer practicing to get un-stuck in 2wd, by rocking the Jeep from 1st to reverse, and back. My oldest brother taught me to double-clutch the next summer to be able to downshift into 1st while still moving. This was all on a column shift.

One trick I used with my daughter was having her first practice using the clutch without touching the gas pedal.

Used to be a commercial for a Volkswagen with the father throwing his shoe up in the tree and a Volkswagen dropping down out of the tree. He says to his daughter, "Let the clutch out a little slower, this time."

    Funny commercial.

Good idea, once hanging upside down in my friends 73 cj5 by the seat belts, we could smell gasoline. Rapidly increasing the need to escape. You cannot imagine how much harder it is to get to and unlatch belts with your body weight pulling on them when inverted.
