    Hello all:

Could someone answer a quick question?

I changed my ECJ5 over to the intermediate hanging pedals, 11" brakes and dual master cylinder. Would a J10 or Wagoneer work on the my CJ?

If so does it bolt in after drilling the 4 holes which mount to the firewall? Would someone know if anything else is required?

    Thanks

    Rich

I'm not sure the J10 booster will clear your hood. The standard cj booster is smaller diameter IIRC.

My 73 came with factory power brakes. The booster is 7 inch diameter to the outermost point, the part number is Bendix 9081. If I remember correctly, there was also some small wedges made of wood that angled the boost/master cylinder down somewhat from the firewall, clearance I guess. I took pictures of everything as I was taking stuff apart. If I find the picture I will post it.
I also had 11 inch brakes all around but am in the middle of a compete rebuild and upgraded the front axle to 1979 CJ5 disc brakes. Currently my booster is in a box in the basement and is item number 482 that has to be rebuilt when I get to reassembly. Just painting the frame now. I thought about just using a newer type of booster that I have seen on the interwebs but I am not sure that it would fit right? There are some rebuild services out there and from what i have seen they are about the cost. or maybe a little more, than a new one, if they still made them, which they don't apparently. At least I know mine will fit right. I will have to get a new master cylinder that is for disc/drum brakes. Hope this helps.

I sent a request to pirate jack to see if they have a bolt in solution. The 1974 models on the his website require a mount bracket as well.

    I appreciate the information.

    Thanks

Hey, you must of been reading my mind, I was just gonna ask if anyone uses those on their jeeps that have power steering. There may be some writeup here I just have not checked yet. Any suggestions on where to get a hydroboost unit that works well.

Many of the ones shown have the mounting bracket. Not sure what you mean.

Pirate jack said he couldn't help. I explained my title says 1964, the frame and all driveline are 71 with flanged D44 axle with intermediate pedals.
I have hydraboost on my 1993 c3500 dually and Yukon GT 2 dr with the 6.5l diesel. VERY GOOD system.

    Yep.......The 80's & 90's GM trucks . Was a GM system. I've always surmised that Jeep & Gm had a connection ?
