The PJ III itself is fine, but the peripherals are all junk. Since I installed the PJ I've replaced the throttle position sensor twice and the temp sender once. The second time the tps went out I replaced it with a better brand from Summit and it works fine. There have been quite a few complaints about the fuel filter that is supplied with the PJ as well and the supplied fuel pump is extremely noisey. I switched it out to a Walbro pump and it's not as irritating. Granted these are minor items, unless one of these parts dies out in the middle of nowhere. Overall I'm happy with the performance and it beats the cr@p out of a carburetor. It never stumbles even on the steepest climbs, but I never go on a hardcore trip without my laptop with me, just in case. Check out this site and be aware that to dial this unit in takes a lot of learning on the users part. They market the unit as "self learning" but that's just short of false advertising. Check out this Forum if you want to see what I'm talking about.

Most of the guys on this forum are hot rodders, but there is a lot of useful info on it that you can use and there are a couple of tuners on the forum that are glad to help you out with problems. My experience is a lot different from Warloch's. In my opinion it is definitely not a "bolt it on and go" unit.

I like the Atomic EFI concept.. Pretty much self contained bolt on and go as far as I can tell..

But have you used it? Powerjection claims theirs is plug and play too.

Yup, but I've figured that out since then. If you are talking about the trip when I met you all at the Springs, that was the coil that was quitting on me. I was lucky to get out on it. A couple of days after I got home it went out totally, little puff of smoke and it was done.

In all fairness - I got one a couple years before Posi got his. I do think their quality went down on them.

The last one I put on was an EZ-EFI setup. I like it real well too. It has more to hook up, but the parts are more common. The tuning is not as flexible as the Powerjection, but it has a hand held instead of a laptop for the settings. I will probably put another one of these on before going back to the Powerjection setups.

No but I will volunteer to test one if'n they want to kick one down!!!

I have read several reviews/videos and such and as far as I can tell it's as advertised.. I just like the self contained aspect.. everything in one bolt on unit..

I don't know how true it is, but I've heard there are quality issues that appeared when Professional Products bought out Retrotek. I won't buy any replacement parts from Professional Products.

The Powerjection III is self contained also.

Edelbrock's ProFlo2 is certainly more money, a lot more wiring, and probably a lot more learning time, but it does include the manifold and is full multipoint, sequential injection. I've got about 5 years on the system in the 3B and there has been no failures of any components. It is also fully programable from just the hand-held and the hand-held also can double as a full set of gages because all the sensor data is available for display. If I was going to do it again, I would still go the same route. Works beautifully both on and off road.

    Hijacking this thread.
Help please. I am searching for a replacement part number for the fuel filter provided by powerjection. The owners manual does not have a replacement part number or equivalent cross reference. Can measures 3" and takes 19mm wrench. Thank you for help. Screenshot_20230701-094735_Drive.jpg

That looks identical to the 1990's GM fuel filter a GF481. They were used a lot on the 1990's C & K pickups with TBI.
