Anyone know what size self tapping bolt those are on the back of the frame that holds the tank bracket

I am wonderoing the same thing - have two that are missing and can't seem to find a source... Most newer self tapping seem to have a finer thread.

I just reinstalled my gas tank a couple of months ago and mine weren't self tappers. I'm pretty sure they are 5/16" SAE (fine thread bolts).

Just a thought, might not even feasible, but drill them out and re thread to the next common size available bolt.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. I don't know why I care so much these stupid bolts. I am restoring a 70 Renegade and was hoping to get it right - but in the end, I don't think i t really matters - both of these suggestions will work. I was just thinking of the next time the skid plate needs to be removed.

Another option would be using Rivnuts.

I should also have mentioned that my brackets are not threaded, the hole in the frame was 5/16" fine thread. The factory bolts looked self tapping but were just slightly tapered. I just used the 5/16" fine thread bolts in the holes. I hope this makes sense.
