Super Duty Tre

Hi Folks.

I’m sure someone here knows. I’m in need of a Super Duty tie rod end with RH 11/16 thread.

The pitman arm I ended up with is Ford Super Duty. The big new Drag link I have is 11/16 18 threaded.

I got the taper correct with the one I bought on Amazon but the threads are way bigger.

What do you know?

That could be a bit daunting to find. There would be no reason for anyone to manufacture a robust TRE that threads to a wimpy drag link or tie rod. You likely could turn down that new TRE and thread it 11/16-18 but that would be a pain in the posterior to do every time you needed to replace the joint. But perhaps you don't put enough miles on it that that would be a problem.

Typically, those 1 ton TRE's are used with 7/8-18 tie rods/drag links.

 

I'm not sure how you ended up with a super duty pitman arm......
There are a bunch of jeep taper friendly options out there that don't require reinventing the wheel.

The splines on a super duty’s sector shaft are massive. Where did it come from?

 

I’m not sure how I ended up with a Super Duty arm. The splines matched no problem with the 70s GM Saginaw steering gear. I did order another “something” on Speedway yesterday evening. If it doesn’t work I’ll change the pitmam arm.

 

I doubt that's a SD arm, if it fits the Saginaw box.
Edit- FSJ's had a Saginaw steering gear but used larger taper TRE's, that might be what you have.
