I just installed some original style reproduction tail lights with 1157 bulbs. Has anyone used the 1157 led lights? I would like some that are brighter. upload_2024-4-11_0-42-4.jpeg

I used some cheap LED 1157s from Amazon in another vehicle, and I am happy with them. Quite a bit brighter than stock. You may or may not need to change the flasher if you are only doing the taillights and not the front turn signals in LED.

This may require a bit of careful research. Someone on here a while back was into this. I cannot remember who. But apparently some LED BULBS are too directional and act kinda like a spot light, Not very visible at an angle, or off to the side a bit. some bulbs are too long hitting the tail light lens. And some make a pink color instead of red. I wish I could remember who it was. I think it may have been someone in the restoration thread..

These have been in my Jeepster Commando for over 5 years with no issues:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F6O3G2S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Also used these to make sure everything worked okay, I'm sure you can find them cheaper:
    https://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performance-Products/JEGS-LED-Turn-Signal-Flashers/2872412/10002/-1

On the superbrightleds.com I found a set of led bulbs for the front that are white for the running lights and flash yellow when the turn signal is activated.
