72 Dash in my 69 ?

I am putting a what is supposed to be a 72 Dash in my 69 and it has what looks to be factory cut outs and holes I'd like to do something with. They are
1 3/8 x 1/2 inch horizontal rectangles and above the steering cut out. Each has a normal switch hole underneath.
Was some thing " factory " in them ? Looks to me like maybe switches under with a light of some kind above.
Any help would be appreciated.

 

I believe they are for the headlight,widshield wiper,and hazzard light,indicator lights.

Thanks, does anyone know where I can get some. Lots of warning lights out there but I can't tell what size they are on line.

 

Absolutely no idea. A lot of this intermediate stuff is hard to come by, due to the limited years of production.

 

4wd hardare sells them they are the same as 80's cj . so are the knobs that are pictured on the blue dash.

They are on eBay all of the time too.

 

The later model ones are not exactly the same but will work. If you are looking for originals, good luck as they are very hard to find and I have not been able to find them new from any one. If you don't mind the minor differences from original, then the '76 and later models will work.

Was that optional in 72. My dash just has the knobs. No lights or extra gauges like some of the pictures I have seen
