OK guys, I just bought my first jeep, a 72 CJ5. I need a little help though. First project on it is fixing the parking brake, but I am having a HELLUVA time finding a release cable with handle. Anyone here know where I can find one new or used? I have searched every internet site and catalog I can find, and no one has it. Does anyone have a resource to tap into junk yards? help a new brother out!

Try http://www.jwjeep.com/ You can do an online parts search with them They have 5 acres of Jeeps. Of course, it seems like you should have some wreckers to chose from there on the East coast. Can't help you there.

I just got a complete parking brake assembly, from the handle all the way to the brackets on the brakes. Cost $150 but well worth it since mine had no parking brake parts at all. I got it from the site Posimoto listed.

Do a search in this forum for boneyard, junkyard and wrecking yard. That is what I did and found lots of links and phone numbers.
