Something that I have been meaning to ask, and never have. As I look around at other rides, I have noticed something. Thus bringing me to my question.

On the back of my tub, above my rear tires, there are these v-shaped molding in the body, on the outside.

What are they for? I was guessing that it had something to do with soft tops back in the day, but what do I know.

    Thanks.

Thanks, but this leads to anothe question.....why do some 1970 CJ have them...and others not.

Tigersharks Jeep is one that I looked at and found that it didn't. Was this a body mod?

If a Jeep doesn't have those it's a pretty sure bet that either the original body has had significant body work or the Jeep is sporting a replacement body.

My tub is a newer replacement that was done sometime in the past. Mine says "Jeep" too and not "JEEP"

On my '71, that's where the factory mounted the passenger side spare tire "rub" protector. I've long since removed it, though.
