I have to get some new tires. i want to run a set of 33x12.5x15 ss tsl's. has anyone run them? are they decent tires? i dont do much highway driving but i do some, and want a good offroad tire. i had 35 xterrains last and want to get something alittle smaller for more clearence but i heard that ss's tend to run larger, something like 33.7? anyone know the spec of the 35's i had before b/c like i said im doin this for clearence? or anyone have something they would recomend as a good tire. i have a budget of somewhere around $700.

I have 32x10.5x15 ss tsl radials and love them! Mine didn't seem to run bigger then spec., maby a little under 32"

dohc281 It is what it is.

I just put some 31x9.5 on mine and think they look and run great. Mine measure slightly over 30.5.

33's should be fine on your JEEP. From what I've seen Swampers tend to be the closest to the actual listed diameter, but they're definitely not larger than listed.

I've been running 33x12.5x15 ss tsl's radials for several years. I don't think you can find a better tire (unless you're doing mud, then boggers are better).

Note that they make both bias ply and radial - I think the radial has better traction (conforms better) and rides much better on road. You do give up some sidewall puncture strenth with the radials but I think it's a good tradeoff. When new they were 33" diameter.

I've got the 32x9.50 TSL (bias), and will say that for me they've not worked very well in any type of wintery situation (they're almost worthless in the ice). Not very good on wet pavement either. They also don't squat very well when aired down IMO either.

BUT, in the mud and woods, they work great.

    IMHO, YMMV, blah blah blah....

The TSL bias plys I've seen seem to run a little on the larger side. Don't know about the radials. Your trail conditions are probably a lot different than the trails I run here in the West. My vote is for 33 x 12.50 BFG Mud Terrains. They are great on the rocks and they squat out nice when aired down. I have a buddy running the TSL 33 x 12.50 and at 5 psi you can't even see a bulge. If you do a lot of mud running, the TSLs are probably better, but gawd are they loud on the pavement.

I run 33x14.50x15 tsl's (bias) on the cj and the only complaint is if the alighnment isn't perfect they wear like **** and cause the death wobble to be terrible, as far as airing out I have run 4 psi in them and they don't physically squat like the 33x12.50 bfg mt's on the dodge, but they also will not spin on the rim at that low of a psi even with the healthy v6 in in the jeep like the bfg's do on the dodge (the bfg's start spinning on the rim at about 8-10 psi). On top of that the tsl's are about bald, but they still dig like a sob.
