The Cherokee looks great. Is there a story line somewhere on it?

Not much of a story line really. Had tried selling my spotless '87 XJ (really do miss that thing, for being 20-something, it was cherry) DD to free up $ for the '49, no interest to speak of. About 60 miles away someone saw I was trying to sell '77 Wagoneer parts as well, said he had a '77 Cherokee (360/T18/D20) he'd trade for the '87 plus throw some cash my way. So while thinning the herd, I gained another.

Body was straight and clean, interior was gutted, and the 360 turned out to be a 401 (perfect for hauling more projects home). Whole slew of small issues. So it became my new DD/weekend tinker vehicle. Sometimes I lose track of how far it has come in the short time I've owned it. I gotta admit, I really enjoy working on what has become known as "The Big Green Weenie". Unfortunately it has been taking my attention away from the '49.

For anyone else with a FSJ, I gotta say that the members over at http://www.ifsja.org are a great source of info on these. Good group of people. Likewise, I try to send traffic back this way when someone pops up a CJ related question over there.

Thought I'd throw a quick picture up of the way I left the '49 project....needed it as a roller so I could move it so don't laugh!

I have astro exhaust manifolds on my Jeepster, and they tuck close to the engine, one straight down and one down and back. I just put another 4.3 in and it was from a full size van, the manifolds point towards the frame so they wouldn't have worked. The frames are the same width I think.

Should be late 80's, early 90's.
