    Hi all

I finally decided a color for the jeep. Until this morning I was going to go with a regular white for the body, and gloss black for the wheels. While I was stripping the jeep, I decided that it won't be much more work and that I was going to go with the almond color I wanted.

Here are some pics of damages I'll fix along the way

Here the material, around 100$ for 2 iron angle (rockers protection), and paint

Striping the hood. The paint was coming off like that on all the hood

    Ready for fiberglass

This is the stuff I use for big holes and repairs. Dries fast and hard, and sticks pretty whell to metal

Front fender and door damage and rear corner

This is how the jeep will look like. It is called ``Recreationnal white``, by Tremclad

Looks like that's going to turn out pretty nice. Hopefully this new paint won't keep you from posting new pics of you flogging your jeep through the woods in the future.

Using Tremclad? Are you rolling it on?

I roll the interior of the tub, and I spray the rest. That ``recipe`` for body repair gave me some great results last year on my YJ

    More progress yesterday

This is the tool I use to sand the excess of fiberglass. You have to gently apply pressure, otherwise it eats very fast

Second layer of the door opening hole. I'll follow this one step by step so you will see the evolution

    Hood damage progress

And a little trick for you all, you probably tought of that, but use foil to cover wipper arms and other hard-to-hide-with-masking-tape component

What do use to thin the Tremclad with for spraying? Why not just remove the wiper arms?

I spray from the cans, the one applied with a brush will be for the floor.

And why don't I remove wipper arms ? Out of laziness I admit...

    Ok, more progress tonight

First, that hole again bellow the door. I sanded it as smooth as I could (with an orbital sander, paper 120 grits)

Than sprayed with primer, we can see clearly what is left to do.

Sanded the hole tub, clean with shop-vac, wash with varsol, let dry, and spray primer

And the hood coming up nicely. Here again, not much left to do

    Ok, some more done today

I did put some regular Bondo over the defect still visible after the coat or primer, and while the front end of the jeep was still drying, I sanded the back and painted it.

There is some small runs in the paint, but hey, this is a trail rig, not a show queen.

However there was some excess of paint in a couple of places. Once it is dry, I'll sand the whole jeep and give it a last coat

    And here is the hood

I think the hood is all right. This is the hardest part to paint properly
