    In the yellow circle, I know it is not a very clear picture but it is the best I have right now. I need to replace this and it is not shown in the Haynes book at least no tthat I can find.

    The pvc is in the front hose . That one is just a elbow and grommet for the return air from the air cleaner . the grommet are aviable from dorman . I just brought one last night ( help #42061) from carquest.

    Filtered air intake to the crankcase. Air exits the crankcase through the PCV valve.

    Jack, on my 82 258 the PVC valve is in the back hole, and the elbow for the air breather is up front.

    My PCV valve is also in the rear hole.
    I don't really think it matters.

    If that hose is messed up you can also purchase a crankcase "breather" filter to accomplish the same function.
    That's what I had to do. You would need to plug up the hole in your filter housing. I ended up replacing my whole carb and filter setup so it didn't affect me too much.
