Hey to anybody that has swapped there front axle on a 2a for a d30, i have a question. Did you reuse the old steering linkages or did you get afertemarket or linkages for the d30???? I if it helps i am going to be doing a power steering upgrade, and a rancho 2" spring lift.

  2. If you have the orginal tie rod and drag link use them. The already fit and won't cost anything.

I am doing the same kind of swap for my CJ-3B in the fall sometime. I suppose you got a narrow track right?

Every supplier carries the tie-rods and ends. Narrow track 72-81

Do yourself a favor - look real hard at moving the shock to the back of the axle at this time. I didn't when I first put the D30 in and have now gone back and done that. My steering was limited due to the tie rods hitting the shock at full turn.

yeah i have narrow tracs. Kinda want the jeep to "appear" somewhat stcok at first glance. But perform and have modern drivetrain. Both diffs are passenger side drop as well.

have a narrow track 30 in my 3a with the rancho 2 inch lift. I believe (but can't recall) I measured the lengths I needed and worked with my parts house to get the right steering. I've got a sag conversion as well... this is the time to do that as well if you haven't yet

yup i am, doing a sag install just have to many things to finish before i do it. And i am waiting for my rancho lift before istalling the steering to. (how do you like yours) But man it been almost 2 month since i ordered it and nothing yet. But hopefully soon. This really slow things down when building a jeep. (Hell i waited two onth almsot for stuff from advance adapters, and then two weeks for other things) Not complaining, just thinking that as these jeeps become more rare the companies don't stock parts and it takes them forever to retool and make parts again.
