THe Inline chevy will be a tight fit. Jsut because you have am otor, doesn't make it a good swap.

Its probably got more leaves up front due to a pump, plow, or big bumper that used to be mounted there.

Replacing the floor pans it not a hard job.

Dude, your paragraph is hard to read. From what I understand you have a fire jeep that needs new floors. No big deal to weld those in. We need picts to see what you have. But very few of us will say to make a swamp buggy out of it. We just don't do that too much around here. We are more of a restore it or build a wheeler. But not do something that destroy's the value of it by cutting it up and making a swamp buggy.

Now if it's just completely rusted out and not salveagable, then go ahead. But not with that motor. Find a sb350 and use that. And if you want a buggy, well the fire jeep, make a little money and buy a YJ. They are better to start with for a project like this and you can pick them up for not much money.

Best I can do, Good thing I speak Jibberish

It has 1,400,000 original miles but no motor. It still has the decals on it. One question, why does it have 14 leafs in the back and 12 up front?
It has a two core radiator and the body is great but floor is bad. I am thinking on making it a swamp buggy.I have at my disposal a Chevy conv. and a strait 6 Chevy to do it.
One plus is, it comes with a 65 parts of axles.
    Anyone have a source for a radiator for 74 cj-5 304 ?

The 14 leaf springs were probably in there to support a water tank and pump, since most fire CJs were used as brush trucks. It doesn't take too much water @ 8# per gallon to get really heavy!

Man, I wouldn't ask anyone what you should do with what belongs to you. If you really do care what we all think, hell, try to turn it into a submersible helicopter. You would have the coolest jeep I ever saw......anyone else????
