I bought a HEI dizzy from ebay.
I notice that guys are using Ford wires with it on the 258.

Is there any other stock style plugs WIRES that will work with the gm HEI set up?

    What wires are you using?.

    Thanks ahead of time.

Use standard plugs but gap them for the HEI. Can't remember the spec off the top of my head but my gut impresson is .055. The HEI allows you to run a bigger gap for a larger hotter spark.

I run the DUI Livewires. I know others here use different ones.

I bought wires from the FLAPS for a 78 pontiac with a 400ci. They fit fine, but the wire for #1 is a little tighter than I'd like. However its been that way for over a year with no problems.

That's the only way to go IMO. The only way you'll get the wires the right length, nice and neat.

Also do some research on the cheap hei conversions. Many of them use a hardened distributor gear that will eat up the cam gear. Can be replaced with the original gear in some applications or can get an MSD gear from Summit or Jeg's.
I used MSD wires on my V-6 but mostly because I had them from another project. Any quality set of wires the right length will work. If you want them to fit really nice then the cut to fit like Patrick showed are the way to go.

I would rather just buy off the shelf wires. This is just on my dd AMC eagle wagon.

Looks like Cherokee wires from 194 to at least 1996 will work.

the wires i used for my 258 hei conversion are for a droF 300 inline, circa 1985. pretty sure i got them from A-zone for $19.99 a few years ago. can't get much cheaper or off the shelf than that.
