Old CJ5 lubrication question

    Making the pudding isn't hard or I did it wrong. Plastic peanut butter jar, tube o grease and some 85W140 cause that's what I had and a turkey baster. It may have been easier since the temp in the shop was 90 Saturday.

    Heck I rebuilt the knuckles on my dana 27 and within 3-4 months of that the knuckles were back to leaking just like they did before. Dana 30 or knuckle pudding are your only real options. I will say this though, GM manual steering box lube is very similar to knuckle pudding if you can still get it.

    Nope, a 27, but you know how it is when your trying to type and answer questions for someone standing beside you. Things tend to not come out the way they should.

    how about lucas additive has anyone tried it.i have added it to to rearends and manual transmissions that i have changed bearings that still had noise it helped considerably

    Same question, saw that stuff when picking up the recipe for knuckle monkey juice lube or what ever at napa yesturday and thought and pondered over Lucas lube and leak stop on the shelf but did'nt buy it.
