you wont need a full sheet so shop around and find a metal yard that charges per sq/ft. a small peice shouldnt be too expensive. i would also bolt it on if going with aluminum. rivet heads are small and might pull out if your going freeway speed. personaly, steel welded on top of the cage sounds like a better way to go especialy if you have your own welder.

I think aluminums fairly cheap considering. I used a piece of galvanized sheet I found at the metal yard and just bolted it on. I made tabs that I welded to the cage and the sheet bolted to the tabs using small 1/4-20 screws. I did paint the top grey and the bottom black. I was able to fit mine so that I could still run my full top if I wanted.

Hey you could instead build a roof top spoiler ala Parnelli Jones "Big Ole" Baja Bronco. Hinge it in the front with clevis pins at the rear for easy removal!.

Haha well as tempting as it sounds heep, i may just pass on the spoiler. No offence to Mr. Jones though. Ghetto, do you have any photos of your jeep with the metal on the top? If you do could you post a couple for me please? I like the idea of the perforated/expanded metal on the top and just welding it in place. Also depends on the price though of the aluminum. I guess I will just shop around and get me some prices on everything. OH! Anyone know off the top of their heads the size of the steering wheel nut that holds the wheel on?

Thanks. Ya I like the look of the top like that. Dont look like it would get in the way of the bikini or soft top.
