Hey gang! Can anyone tell me which heater hose is the in (for my Mohave heater) and which is the out? I'm looking at one on the elbow at the rear of the intake and one from the water pump.

    Thanks!

Let me re-phrase that. I know which hoses are the in/out on the heater, I just don't know if the elbow on the back of the intake goes to the "in" side, or if it's the water pump outlet.

    Thanks!

Okay...one last question to tag onto those above (I promise!). I have a cable operated shut-off valve I plan to put into the heater hose as well to shut off the heat in the summer. Which hose should this go into?

    Thanks!

Knowing what kind of engine you have would be helpful here as far as hookup.
I installed the same heater in my Daughter's '70 and honestly, it "shouldn't" really make too much difference on the control valve. As long as it blocks the flow or controls it you should be ok. Ideally you would put it on the output from the engine as that is the freshest hot water source from your engine. On the Daughter's '70 I put the control valve in the hose coming from the back of the intake (225 V-6) just to keep the engine bay as uncluttered as possible. I haven't actually run it yet to test it out as I have to flush out the fuel system and haven't had time to do it.

    Ah...knowing the motor would help. It's a 225 Dauntless in my '62.

    Thanks,
